Diane's Metallic Shift Dress
I remember when I first watched this film and this piece just stood out to me. It made Diane seem niave, child-like, which she is obviously not! Recently the shift dress has come back into fashion and will always be a timeless classic. The metallic material gives it a really nice edge and to really modernise the look I love this ASOS version which has mesh inserts to give a not-so innocent feel to it.
Renton's Bomber Jacket
Ah...young Ewan McGregor...swoon!
Again, this is an iconic costume from Trainspotting as Renton wears it through the majority of the film. One against his is a trend that has recently come back into fashion with EVERY store in England selling a bomber jacket. I myself have many varieties, my favourite being my Japanese-style bomber jackets. However I am in need of just a basic black bomber jacket that will literally go with everything! I chose this basic black bomber jacket from ASOS, as its classic yet has modernised the bomber jacket with silver detailing.
Renton's Skinny Grey Jeans
My favourite of all the scenes, the toilet scene really showcases these grey distressed beauties off. Aside from giving me leg envy of McGregor's pins, these jeans are also so versatile for both day and evening looks, with trainers or heels. I love the high waisted nature of these ASOS jeans and the black detailing across the seams and would look great with a crop top or a black blouse.
Begbie's Denim Jacket
I love my classic denim jacket and basically wear it with everything, and I love that Begbie's worn it with a basic white shirt. I personally love pairing my denim jacket with a pair of black culottes with a white shirt and some trainers, but again it can be both dressed up and down. This distressed number from ASOS is a darker denim which I love and works very well to play on the double denim trend.
Renton's Graphic Tee
Another classic piece that will be timeless, the graphic tee. Renton wears a range of these throughout the film, yet I feel the yellow is a really nice touch especially for Summer! My favourite place to get graphic tee's from are Primark although if you want a really unique piece RedBubble is also great! This ASOS one would look great denim trousers or a midi skirt for Summer.
I hope you guys enjoyed my first Film post, as I study Film quite a few of the posts will have a Film focus to them which I can't wait to write for you guys. It shows how certain films never go out of style and the costumes in them are also timeless.
All images belong to Trainspotting and ASOS.
