So one of the main reasons I wanted to start this blog was so I could give you some insight into many of the great events in London and give my personal opinion on them. I've lived in London my whole life, and I still find great new things to do in London everyday!
In the future I will be posting restaurant reviews, event reviews, gig reviews etc, just to give you an insight into whats the best events in London!
So this week it is....
The £1 Cinema Club at the Clapham Grand
My friends went to the first week of the £1 Cinema Club at the Clapham Grand which is now on every Friday until September, so make sure to check them out on Facebook as they are showing loads of great films every week!
When we first arrived there was no queue and we already had our tickets so we went straight in, were given a complimentary shot and the movie started on time. To be honest, they could've had more seating as many of the seats were very quickly taken up and we had to sit upstairs with a restricted view, however we still had a good view of the film and enjoyed Tatum in all his stripping glory!
Halfway through the film they had some great entertainment by the Forbidden Nights strippers which was hysterical and got everyone going, they then had a quick game which involved the audience, but luckily that didn't last too long and we got back to all the boys in their pants once again. Swoon!
I do have to say, the service wasn't very great at the Clapham Grand. We waited probably around 20 minutes to get a drink, and it wasn't even that busy and they had about 4 bartenders. The drinks were very expensive, and I KNOW, it's London, however £20 for a pitcher that you get about 1 drink out of each is just taking the piss a lickle bit...
After the movie (and after we'd gone to Sainsbury's and downed some cans of gin) we went back for the club to start playing the tunes. I mean it was alright, old cheesy pop, which after my few cans of gin I was into however it didn't have a very great buzzing atmosphere, however it started to busier once I had to leave (I refuse to get 5 night buses to get back home..) so I think on a usual night it would be busier especially as it's right on Clapham High Street.
Overall, it was a really fun and a VERY cheap night out for London. I would say that they could have better service and more drink options (who doesn't serve cocktails by glass, I mean even Wetherspoons does!) A really great venue and I will never turn down Tatum ever.
Check out all the other events The Clapham Grand has coming up here!
